Siva

Band's Comments Lyrics
Billy: "I carried 'Siva' around in my mind for like 5 years. That I knew one day I would write a song called 'Siva' I just knew. I have tapes from 5 years ago with 'Siva' written on them you know. You know trying to put that title to a song you know... I even thought about calling the band 'Siva' actually." Interview with Billy and Jimmy from December 1991

Billy: "I always knew I'd write a song called "Siva." Well, originally it was "Shiva" with an "h", and that's the god of destruction and sex but I then I read about it and I realized that that's not what I wanted the song to be about at all. I didn't want the song to be identified with a specific god. It has more to do with, well, there's yin and yang and there's Siva a shakti. So it's the male aspect of Hinduism. That's not really what the song is about at all but it's hard to explain".

Siva
Billy Corgan

I spin off and lose my head
Throwing stray a spark instead
Gather strength down in my heel
And dig it in the world I peel

Way down deep within my heart
Lies a soul that's torn apart
Tell me, tell me what you're after
I just want to get there faster

I don't live - I inhale
I don't give - I unveil
Don't want to live in your misery
I don't live - I inhale

Sprinkle all my kisses on your head
Stars full of wishes fill our beds
She said, "I'm dead"

All this pain smothers me
Like a bomb that you can't see
Tell me, tell me what you're after
I just want to get there faster

I don't live - I inhale
I don't give - I unveil
I don't live - I inhale
I don't live
