By Meredith [Meredi5309@aol.com] - Ok, first of all, the venue was totally packed, crazy, and way too small for a HUGE band like The Smashing Pumpkins. We all had to RUN to get really close, and i ended up about 10 feet from Billy! They opened with "Rock on" by David Essex, and closed with The Who's "Join Together." They played soooooo many songs, probably 18 or so, and the first one off of Machina was "Heavy Metal Machine." It was really hype and crazy and so awesome! Some really nice guy did such a great thing: I had snuck a camera in, and i was holding it up to take pictures, and he offered to lift me up, so he did. I waved at Billy and snapped a pic. He smiled and looked right at me when he was singing. Well, I had met them during their meet and greet tour in Feb, and I had gotten a hug and a kiss and an autograph from him, but this was soooo good too! I had the best time, especially when they played Mellon Collie stuff. They encored twice, the first time they played 1979, which was the climax of the whole ! concert. Bullet with Butterfly Wings was also really awesome. I had the best time, felt great,(besides the fact that I lost my shoes!!!!!) and I would love to do it a million times over! The Smashing Pumpkins
forever!!
With undying love for Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin,
Melissa Auf Der Maur, and D'arcy (boo hoo),
P.S. anyone who wants to write to me, feel free! or IM!
